Is It You?

Today, my Clustr map (see it there, in my sidebar? That is how you spell it!) finally updated. It's been on the fritz lately, telling me no-one had visited this blog when people had been and left comments, and other lies. Since I got the map, I've had nearly 2,500 hits, mostly from the UK, but the update told me, I've got two frequent lurkers-one in the U.S. and one in Norway. (I think it's Norway; It's definitely Scandinavia, anyway.) Neither of them have left any comments

Who are these mysterious people? Is it you? If it is, you have impeccable taste. Please leave a comment, and you could win a Mick Trimble rucksack* (pictured) manufactured in yellow polyester as most of my posts concern urinals and/or piddle.

*This is a rucksack from a GPS company. It's fuck all to do with me, really.

Could just be lots of hits from various people planning to visit Trimble County, USA, for their vacation. Or school kids researching their region.

Ah, appealing to the lurkers to post, I've tried it many times and it's never worked.

I ignore Clustr maps now to avoid frustration. I'm thinking of fucking it off and turning to a site meter. One day I had 31 comments (a round of applause please - although admittedly some were from me) and clustr maps told me no-one had visited that day.

And another (non) interesting point - there is a Harnett County USA too, in North Carolina.

Ahh, but is there a Harnett Mountain? There's a Trimble Mountain, in Trimble County, Kentucky, and it's fucking brilliant!

Yeah. It's fantastic. It offers a brilliant view of a place called 'Reddish Knob'and when I went there, the residents found out my surname and were so chuffed they gave me free breakfasts all the time I was there.

All of the above is untrue. (Except the bit about Trimble Mountain overlooking Reddish Knob. That's true.)

No mountain and no Reddish Knob.
Cape Fear river does run through there though, and their founder was Cornelius Harnett, which I think sounds kinda cool.

Yes, I did waste thesis time googling this.

I wish I had a Cape Fear river going through my county. That's a great movie. Not the overblown Scorsese/De Niro one, the original with Robert Mitchum and Gregory Peck.
Cornelius is a chimp's name. (Of course Harnett's not. I don't want your dad to rip me a new arse.)
